Equivio is used to support text mining in applications such as military intelligence, homeland security, manufacturing, publishing and financial services.
Equivio detects and groups near-duplicates. In many cases, these near-duplicates derive from data redundancies. The near-duplicate documents can then be eliminated from the input set that is submitted to the text mining engine. Elimination of the near-duplicates can be effected via an automatic rule or manually by a user.
Elimination of the near-duplicates helps ensure completion of text mining processing in the time window. Equivio also eliminates skewed results which can derive from data redundancies.
