New York, January 30, 2006 - Equivio, provider of software for detection of near-duplicate files, has announced the release of Equivio 2.1. By grouping near-duplicates, Equivio helps organizations reduce the cost of document review processes.

The new version of Equivio is integrated with leading litigation support products, including:

• Review sets of near-duplicate documents. The review system can display sets of near-duplicates, ensuring review of all similar documents together, in a coherent manner. The Equivio groupings also allow rationalized assignment to the review teams, based on near-duplicate sets.
• Retrieve the near-duplicates of any given document. Having selected or read a document, the user can retrieve all the documents that are near-duplicates of this document.
• Perform prioritized review. The attorney starts by reading one document in each near-duplicate set. This allows a prioritized review, enabling more ground to be covered in the available time window.
• Code and treat documents in a consistent manner. By allowing the near-duplicates to be displayed together, the user is able to define a given attribute, such as privileged or responsive, across the entire near-duplicate set.
