TechLaw Solutions Delivers Near-Duplicate Detection Based on Equivio Technology
Washington D.C., August 21, 2006- TechLaw Solutions, a pioneer in litigation support and information management, announced today that it is offering detection and grouping of near-duplicate documents. The new service is based on technology from Equivio, a company that specializes in near-duplicate detection software.
TechLaw Solutions will be offering the near-duplicate detection service to its commercial and government clients in both electronic source and hard copy source scenarios. In earlier trials of the software by TechLaw, Equivio has consistently found 20-50% near-duplicates in typical collection sets.
“TechLaw Solutions is committed to applying innovative technologies that help our clients control the spiraling costs of litigation,” said Mel Goldenberg, President of TechLaw Solutions. “Our adoption of Equivio’s near-duplicate technology is an outstanding example of this commitment. This new service will help our clients reduce the time and cost of document review in the discovery process,” Goldenberg continued.
“TechLaw Solutions recognizes that near-duplicates are a significant hidden cost for its customers,” said Amir Milo, CEO of Equivio. “In the absence of tools to identify near-duplicates, most customers are not fully aware of the scope and expense of the problem. However, with near-duplicate rates so high, it’s difficult to imagine any other single technology can make such a decisive impact on litigation costs.
